About this Artist:
Erick Huertas got his start in writing and photography at a young age while growing up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He solidified his passion for both when he completed the Trans-American Trail in the summer of 2021 with his Land Rover Discovery. The experience of being on the trail instilled an innate sense of adventuring and desire to see the American continent for all that it is worth.
About this Work:
Throughout this course I traveled from my home on Whidbey Island to the Florida Keys, back and then to Alaska. Throughout my travels, I took many photos, each location had its own unique landscape and set of experiences, but the unique wildlife is what resonated with me most. I chose the black and white secluded images to try and capture the raw and surreal experiences I had while encountering these animals in the wild.
