Cheryl Papadakis | Floral Finesse

About this Artist:
”Motherhood...always reaching, bending, protecting...” is how a friend described the image of “Tilting Tulips”. There can be no greater accolade when a photograph elicits such an emotional response. No matter what the subject, there is a story that can be told, and capturing moments and evoking emotion will remain a pursuit in my work. An Art History major from UW, I continue my work as a home stylist, art director, event planner, prop specialist, Christmas tree designer, part-time florist, emerging photographer... and full-time mom.

About this Work:
For as long as I can remember I’ve loved working with flowers. Whether it’s caring for them in my garden, or arranging bouquets for my dining room table or a friend’s wedding, flowers bring me joy.

Another passion is collecting unique found objects. I suppose you could call me a vintage junkie who enjoys juxtaposing the old and eclectic with the new and simplistic. I think floral arranging is an art form made more interesting if the vase is also given careful consideration within the overall composition. Marry the two and the unique vessel sets the stage for the floral performance!
